Rear bumper build

My pal Travis and I have been talking about doing a rear bumper for some time. Finally back in October of 2022 I stopped by Envision Fabrication. We spent some time going over the rear bumper build in the shop. Originally Travis we going to build the plate bumper himself, but then they got super busy and I started some major dental work. Finally able to drop off the 4runner in February of 2023 to start the bumper build. With Travis and Justin being super busy with work at envision, we decided to go with a plate bumper from Coastal Offroad.

Once the plate bumper was built, Travis then added two swing outs, using swing out hinges from 4xinnovations. The driver side swing out holds two jerry cans, using a Eazi-Awn mount I already had from Equipt Expedition Outfitters. Passenger side swing out holds the spare tire and on the inside, a table for cooking. Travis also mounted some rear mud flaps and made them removable. Lastly, the whole bumper was powder coated to match.

Really really happy with how it all turned out. Thanks to my pal Travis for taking on this project!

Coastal Offroad

Back in October of 2022, got together with my pal Travis at Envision Fabrication. We spent some time going over the build for the rear bumper.

Though a bit delayed, finally got the 4runner into the shop at Envision in February of 2023.

Originally we planned for Travis and Envision to build a a custom base bumper. But with myself being busy during the winter with dental work and Envision being super busy with fabrication jobs, we went with a plate bumper from Coastal Off Road.

Travis mocking up the plate bumper from Coastal Offroad.

All mocked up and tac welded together.

Coastal Off Road plate bumper all welded together.

Travis building the first swing out that holds the spare tire. Behind the spare tire we mounted a table for cooking.

For the swing out hinges, Travis used some 4xInnovation latches.

Second swing out in place. This one holds the dual jerry cans.

Second wing out mounted with traction boards in place.

Last step, some Colorful Colorado mud flaps installed. There removable. My pal Jeremiah found them for me.:).

Finished product. Super excited!

1st pics out with the new bumper. Mud flaps might be my favorite part.

Still need to wire in the reverse lights for the bumper.

A nice little table to cook dinner.
