Outlaws Run 2013. Act 2: Bear Lake, the scenic way to Jackson, a cold night on Prichard Pass and a much needed warm soak

After a fine night/morning at Bear Lake, we made a stop in Montpelier, ID for lunch. As mentioned, Butch Cassidy ended up robbing the bank in town after getting word that his friend and fellow Wild Bunch member were “goners” if they didn’t get money to help with the legal fees. On a whim, we took a dirt road out of Montpelier to get us to Jackson, WY. Turned out to be quiet the scenic drive, especially with the Fall Colors. After a wild and cold night camped along Prichard Pass, we stopped for a much enjoyable soak at Granit Hot Springs. From there, we continued on to Green River Lakes, deep in Grizzly country.

A fine morning at Bear Lake to start the trip.

Bear Lake is a beautiful spot!

Couldn’t pass up a group shot at Bear Lake.

We came across a beach that you could access with your vehicle. We had to stop and check it out.

Stopped for lunch in Montpelier, ID. If I did my research, I would have known that there is a museum for the robbery that the Wild Bunch did here.
