Henry Mountains, July 2010

I headed back to the Henry Mountain’s with my pal Sean for another long 4th of July holiday weekend. It was just myself riding along with Sean in his super clean FJ60. The Henry’s, located in southeastern Utah are always a fun mountain range to explore. For this trip, we only saw an handful of people.

The Henry Mountains were the last mountain range to be discovered and put on a map of the U.S (1872). First discovered by Major Powell in 1869. They were named in honor of Joseph Henry, first acting director of the Smithsonian institution. The Henry also are home to about 350 American Bison. It’s believed that they are one of three free roaming pure bread Bison heard’s in the U.S.
