Snow Pizza Run 2020

I was able to ride along with my pal Scott Yoder for this years Snow Pizza Run with the club. It’s an always fun run and seems to vary each year depending on conditions and snow pack. Yankee Hill, above Central City, CO provides a great area to play in the snow, as there are now shelf roads to worry about. For this years run, we had 23 rigs, a big group and every one seemed to get stuck at least once. Afterwords, we headed to Beau Jo’s in Idaho Springs for pizza and drinks to end the day.

Making our way up to the upper parking lot. Rick in his nicely built 3rd gen 4runner.

This section of hill wasn’t to bad this year.

At the upper parking area, waiting for the rest of the group to catch up.

Scott trying to break through the drift to get to the playground area.

After a few attempts, had to pull cable.

Since Scott’s winch wasnt working at the moment, we used a tree save and a snatch block with cable from Zach’s rig to pull Scott through the drift.

My favorite image of Scott for the day.

Scott free of the drift.

Waited here to get some images of Scott coming through, but he had a hard time getting past the first drift.

As far as Scott could get.

Using the winch again to get Scott turned back around.

On the main road towards Yankee Hill.

Scott helping get the GX unstuck.

Lunch among the old Bristlecones.

Views from the top of Yankee Hill.

Travis (the Honeybadger) stuck in a big drift. Those are 37″ tires.

Took Justin quiet a few attempts in the Red Chili to free this 5th gen 4runner.

Scott blasting through.

Jeff taking a pull through this tough section.

Scott set up a winch line to help get rigs through this section ( a tough uphill climb)

Adam was the last of the group through.
